Job summary

OpenKrill, a MIT-born startup in Silicon Valley, seeks an Individual Contributor for its Data Studio team. You will transform raw customer data into structured datasets for AI training, evaluation, and delivery, applying mechanical engineering expertise to create CAD-ground-truth content and robust data pipelines.

This hands-on role bridges product, research, and engineering. You will collaborate with PMs to shape tooling, define data standards, and produce domain content, while supporting

Qualifications

• Strong domain expertise in mechanical engineering, manufacturing design, or industrial workflows.
• Hands-on experience with CAD tools listed above.
• Ability to interpret complex mechanical assemblies, drawings, GD&T, and design artifacts.
• Experience creating exploded views, work-step sequences, manuals, or manufacturing instructions.
• Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Data Creation, Processing & Quality: Ingest, clean, transform, and structure engineering data for AI training.
• Workflow & Tooling Contributions: Collaborate to shape annotation tooling and data pipelines.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with engineering/research to define data needs and ground-truth designs.
• Domain Expertise & Reference Content Creation: Generate documentation, exploded views, and annotations.
• Customer & Project Support: Guide customers on data schemas and improve data pipelines.
