Job summary

Jennings Mechanical is seeking a Mechanical Construction Superintendent to oversee field operations on commercial and industrial mechanical construction projects in Charleston, SC. This role drives safe, efficient, and high-quality on-site execution while coordinating with project managers, foremen, subcontractors, inspectors, and customers.

The Superintendent serves as the primary on-site leader, ensuring projects are delivered on schedule, within budget, and to Jennings Mechanical standards,

Qualifications

8+ years of experience in commercial and/or industrial mechanical construction
3+ years in a supervisory role
Strong knowledge of HVAC, piping, sheet metal, plumbing, and mechanical systems

Responsibilities

Lead and supervise all on-site mechanical construction activities
Manage mechanical foremen, apprentices, helpers, and subcontractors
Plan daily work activities and maintain short-term look-ahead schedules
Ensure work is performed per drawings, specifications, codes, and scope of work
Enforce Jennings Mechanical, OSHA, and site safety requirements
Coordinate work with general contractors, other trades, and inspectors
Monitor labor productivity and communicate progress to Project Management
Take off, price, and order materials as needed
Assist with change orders, inspections, punch lists, and project closeout
Maintain accurate daily reports, manpower logs, and field documentation

Job Overview

Jennings Mechanical is seeking an experienced Mechanical Construction Superintendent to oversee field operations on commercial and industrial mechanical construction projects. This role is responsible for driving safe, efficient, and high-quality execution of work in the field.

The Superintendent serves as the primary on-site leader and works closely with Project Managers, Foremen, subcontractors, inspectors, and customers to ensure projects are delivered on schedule, within budget, and to Jennings Mechanical standards.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and supervise all on-site mechanical construction activities
Manage mechanical foremen,apprentices, helpers, and subcontractors
Plan daily work activities and maintain short-term look-ahead schedules
Ensure work is performed per drawings, specifications, codes, and scope of work

Qualifications

Required

8+ years of experience in commercial and/or industrial mechanical construction and 3+ years in a supervisory role
Proven experience supervising mechanical field crews
Strong knowledge of HVAC, piping, sheet metal, plumbing, and mechanical systems
Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
Solid understanding of OSHA regulations and jobsite safety practices
Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
