Job summary

Verto People is seeking a Mechanical Construction Manager to oversee mechanical equipment and piping installation on a power generation project in Texas. Representing the owner, you will monitor contractor progress, review installation activities and assist in resolving site issues through mechanical completion and handover.

The role requires extensive experience with mechanical and piping construction, supervision, and EPC oversight, including large rotating equipment and high-pressure piping,

Qualifications

• 12+ years of mechanical and piping construction experience in power or process plants.
• 5+ years in supervisory roles.
• 5+ years representing an owner and overseeing EPC contracts under lump-sum arrangements.
• Practical experience with large rotating equipment, heavy lifts and high-pressure piping.
• Working knowledge of ASME Section VIII, B31.1 and B31.3.

Responsibilities

• Oversee equipment delivery, positioning, alignment and grouting.
• Monitor piping fabrication, installation and support arrangements.
• Review lifting plans and attend critical equipment lifts.
• Oversee installation of tanks, packaged equipment and auxiliary systems.
• Review test packages and monitor pressure testing with the quality team.
• Check equipment preservation, storage and material traceability.
• Participate in walkdowns and close punch lists.

Representing the owner, you’ll monitor contractor delivery, review installation activities and help resolve site issues through mechanical completion and handover.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee equipment delivery, positioning, alignment and grouting.
• Monitor piping fabrication, installation and support arrangements.
• Review lifting plans and attend critical equipment lifts.
• Oversee installation of tanks, packaged equipment and auxiliary systems.
• Review test packages and monitor pressure testing alongside the quality team.
• Check equipment preservation, storage and material traceability.
• Participate in walkdowns and track punch list items through to closure.

Requirements

• At least 12 years of mechanical and piping construction experience within power or process plants, including five years in supervisory roles.
• At least five years representing an owner and overseeing EPC contractors under lump-sum contracts.
• Practical experience with large rotating equipment, heavy lifts and high-pressure piping.
• Working knowledge of ASME Section VIII, B31.1 and B31.3.
• A degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent field experience.

OSHA 30 would be advantageous.
