Job summary

Accura Engineering and Consulting Services, Inc. seeks a Construction Inspector-Mechanical to monitor construction activities at Huntsville, AL projects.

The role ensures conformance with MSFC standards, codes, and contract drawings, conducting site inspections and coordinating with contractors throughout the project lifecycle. The candidate will review submittals, payment requests, and daily reports, maintaining thorough records and assisting in punch lists and final inspections.

Qualifications

• Must be able to read, understand and follow verbal and written instructions.
• Knowledge of construction contract drawings and specifications is required.
• Experience reading and commenting on contractor submittals and daily reports is preferred.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with clients and team members.

Responsibilities

• Provide inspection and surveillance of construction, operations, maintenance, and repair activities to ensure work complies with the contract.
• Monitor submittals using a submittal status log.
• Review contractor payment requests for accuracy and completeness.
• Review daily reports and verify project schedule progress.
• Maintain Inspectors Site Inspection Report and orderly project files.
• Monitor RFIs and contract documents including amendments and change orders.
• Assist in pre-final/final inspections and ensure punch list items are corrected before final payment.
• Verify as-built drawings weekly and assist in review of O&M manuals.
