Job summary

General Dynamics Electric Boat at Quonset Point in Rhode Island seeks a Mechanical/Aerospace/ Civil/Structural/Marine or Naval Architecture engineer with 1–5 years of post-graduate experience. You will provide on-site technical leadership for mechanical construction in VIRGINIA Class programs, oversee operations, interpret designs, and coordinate with SMEs to resolve issues.

Requirements include a BS degree in the specified fields, MS Office proficiency, and the ability to obtain a DoD secret

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree or higher in Mechanical, Aerospace, Civil, Structural, Marine, or Ocean Engineering or Naval Architecture.
• 1–5 years of post-graduate engineering experience.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD secret clearance; proficient with MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Provide engineering oversight and assistance to operations personnel.
• Evaluate shipyard issues and develop technically acceptable resolutions via Engineering Reports and TIR Unsats.
• Interpret design, drawing, and specification requirements.
• Coordinate engagement of SMEs in construction sequence as required.
• Answer VIRS for issues associated with EBQP work delegated to a vendor.
• Perform engineering calculations for as-built configurations.
