Job summary

Castelion in Torrance, CA seeks an Engineering Project Specialist - Mechanical to lead planning, coordination, and execution of mechanical engineering projects from concept through production. You will maintain BOMs, manage CAD assemblies, coordinate ECR/ECO, track schedules, and support prototypes, manufacturing docs, and design verification within PLM/ERP workflows.

Ideal candidates have 2–5 years of experience in mechanical engineering in a manufacturing environment, with proficiency in 3D

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Associate's degree in a technical discipline.
• 2–5 years supporting mechanical engineering or NPD in manufacturing.
• Working knowledge of GD&T and mechanical design principles.
• Experience managing BOMs and product configurations.
• Proficiency with 3D CAD software and PLM/ERP systems.

Responsibilities

• Manage and maintain engineering BOMs for new and existing mechanical products.
• Maintain CAD assemblies, part configurations, and engineering documentation in CAD/PLM systems.
• Perform minor CAD modeling and drawing revisions under direction of design engineers.
• Coordinate ECR/ECO process, ensure changes are documented and released.
• Monitor project schedules, milestones, and key performance metrics for on-time delivery.
• Track design release status, prototypes, tests, and production readiness.
• Ensure documentation complies with drafting standards and revision controls.
• Support mechanical engineers with prototypes, manufacturing docs, and verification activities.
• Coordinate with Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain to implement changes and support new products.
• Maintain configuration management throughout product lifecycle and ensure traceability.
• Develop and maintain project dashboards and leadership status reports.
• Identify opportunities to improve workflows and change management.
