Job summary

Actalent is seeking a Mechanical Design Drafter to design and draft detailed drawings supporting manufacturing and product development. You will manage projects from concept to completion, create 2D/3D models, and provide practical design solutions for new products and changes.

You will collaborate with engineering and manufacturing to ensure designs are manufacturable and meet project requirements, with emphasis on BOM, documentation, and design reviews.

Qualifications

• 2-5 years CAD experience with 3D modeling focus.
• Proficient in CAD tools for 2D/3D drawings.
• Experience with AutoCAD and SolidWorks for mechanical design and drafting.

Responsibilities

• Manage design and drafting projects from concept through completion.
• Provide design solutions for new product development and changes.
• Prepare documentation: models, installations, layouts, weldments, and assemblies.
• Check dimensions and material relationships for assemblies.
• Incorporate changes via red-lined drawings and change requests.
• Apply engineering knowledge to develop accurate drawings.
• Use CAD tools to create, modify, and maintain models and drawings.
• Collaborate with engineering and manufacturing to resolve issues.
• Participate in design reviews and document corrective actions.
• Support BOM and lifecycle data documentation.
