Job summary

Marine Travelift is actively seeking a Mechanical Assistant to support the assembly team in Green Bay, WI. This hourly, full-time role will assist Mechanical Assemblers with building machines for harbors, marinas, and industrial applications.

You will learn to assemble components, read blueprints, and gain hands-on experience with hydraulic lines and electrical systems while progressing toward a full assembler position.

Qualifications

• Basic mechanical knowledge is required.
• Attention to detail is essential for assembly tasks.
• Ability to read blueprints is preferred.
• Must be able to follow verbal and written instructions in English.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted.

Responsibilities

• Complete entry level assembly work and prepare parts, wires, hoses, and hydraulics for builds.
• Assist with subassemblies to produce boat hoist and lift components.
• Assist with engine and compartment installation including pumps, hoses, conduit and hydraulics.
• Train with mechanical assemblers to advance to assembler role.
• Lift and stack completed subassemblies and parts using appropriate equipment.
• Operate overhead and jib cranes to move steel beams and columns.

Job Description

Marine Travelift is excited to be adding Mechanical Assistants to our team. This is an hourly level, full-time position that will assist the Mechanical Assemblers with the machine builds.

As a Mechanical Assistant, you will…

• Complete entry level assembly work and prepare parts, wires, hoses, and hydraulics to be added to the build equipment utilizing power equipment and wrenching techniques
• Produce boat hoist and lift components by assisting with subassemblies to produce one, large product.
• Assist with engines and compartments installation that includes pumps, tires, conduit and hydraulic lines.
• Train with mechanical assemblers to increase mechanical, electrical and hydraulic skills as it relates to machine builds and grow into an assembler position.
• Lift and stack completed subassemblies and parts
• Use overhead and jib cranes as needed to move steel beams and columns
• All other duties and responsibilities that are assigned

• Have basic mechanical knowledge and/or be mechanically inclined
• Have attention to detail
• Be able to follow verbal and written work instructions in English
• Be able to read blueprints
• Be able to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted

1st shift works Monday-Thursday, 6:00AM-3:00PM; Friday, 6:00AM-12:00PM

2nd shift works Monday-Thursday; 2:30PM-1:00AM (3-day weekend); Enjoy 2nd shift differential pay!
