Job summary

Marine Travelift is seeking an Equipment Builder in Sturgeon Bay, WI, to assemble our custom machines, including boat hoists and marine forklifts. The role offers in-house training and requires prior mechanical skills and attention to detail.

Expect shift-based work on 1st or 2nd shift with programed hours. As an Equipment Builder, you will assemble components, install hydraulic lines, and use power tools to complete large assemblies.

Qualifications

• Experience reading blueprints.
• Mechanical experience or aptitude.
• High attention to detail.
• Ability to follow English work instructions.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Assemble boat hoist and lift components.
• Install engines, compartments, pumps, tires, and hydraulic lines.
• Assemble and install wiring, hoses, and hydraulics.
• Lift and stack completed subassemblies and parts.
• Operate overhead and jib cranes to move steel beams.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

As an Equipment Builder, you are responsible for building our custom machines including boat hoists, marine forklifts, and industrial lift. It's cool stuff! We are proud to offer in-house job training for all our team members. Previous mechanical skills and attention to detail are required for this career path.

1st shift – Monday-Thursday, 6:00AM-3:00PM; Friday, 6:00AM-12:00PM

2nd shift – Monday-Thursday; 2:30PM-1:00AM (3-day weekend)

As an Equipment Builder, you will…

• Produce boat hoist and lift components by assembling parts and subassemblies to produce one, large product.
• Install engines and compartments, pumps, tires, conduit and hydraulic lines.
• Assemble and install parts, wires, hoses, and hydraulics onto large equipment utilizing power equipment and wrenching techniques
• Lift and stack completed subassemblies and parts
• Use overhead and jib cranes as needed to move steel beams and columns
• All other duties and responsibilities that are assigned

We are looking for you to…

• Have experience reading blueprints
• Have previous mechanical experience and/or be mechanically inclined
• Have high attention to detail
• Be able to follow verbal and written work instructions in English
• Be able to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted
