Job description

Mechanical Assembly Technician

Pay Range: $28–$33+ per hour, based on experience

Location: Lanco Integrated

At Lanco, you won't find a production line or repetitive assembly work. Every machine we build is custom designed from scratch for industries like medical, defense, and automotive, and shipped to some of the most demanding manufacturers in the world. If you're a hands‑on builder who takes pride in precision work and wants to grow, this is the place to do it.

We're looking for a Mechanical Assembly Technician with solid mechanical experience and the drive to take on meaningful work. You'll build and assemble precision automation systems alongside a highly engaged team and have a clear path to grow into a Project Lead or Mechanical Engineer role.

What You’ll Do
  • Build and assemble mechanical sub‑assemblies and stations that come together as complete automation systems
  • Align and verify tooling to ensure proper fit, form, and function. Precision matters here.
  • Troubleshoot and debug stations, modules, and full systems alongside Project Leads and Supervisors.
  • Support electrical routing and control assembly as needed.
  • Collaborate with the team to redline or modify mechanical components in the field.
  • Participate in Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and Site Acceptance Testing (SAT), including customer installations and occasional travel.
  • Lead smaller‑scope module builds as a Module Project Leader – a stepping stone to the Project Lead role.
  • Support measurement studies such as Gage R&R and CpK.
  • Help train and mentor junior Mechanical Technicians on the team.
  • Maintain a safe, organized work area in line with 5S principles.
What You Bring
  • Hands‑on mechanical assembly experience. Automation experience is a plus, but a strong mechanical background is what matters most.
  • A.S. in a mechanical or electrical field, or 3–5 years of relevant hands‑on experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and documentation.
  • Familiarity with machining tools, such as mills, lathes, and grinders.
  • Some electrical assembly cross‑training (preferred but not required).
  • Experience with BOM changes, purchasing, and materials handling.
  • Comfortable working in a physically active environment — standing, kneeling, lifting 25–50 lbs.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally for field service and customer installations.
Where This Role Can Take You

Lanco invests in people who want to grow. From this role, there are two clear paths forward:

  • Automation Project Lead – step into full project ownership, leading builds from assembly through customer acceptance.
  • Mechanical Engineer – for those pursuing or holding a degree, a path into engineering design and development.

Our tuition reimbursement benefit is here to help make either path a reality.
