Job summary

Maverick Power in Garland, Texas, is seeking a Mechanical Assembly Lead to supervise the fabrication and packing of manufactured products, ensuring safety, quality, and efficiency on the shop floor. You will read blueprints, assemble machinery and electrical equipment, and maintain production logs while mentoring a team through the 5S discipline.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 4 years’ experience in manufacturing roles.
  • Proficient in MS Office; reads blueprints and schematics.

Responsibilities

  • Read blueprints, schematics, or similar documentation, then build to those specifications.
  • Assemble machinery, fabricated metal products, electrical equipment, appliances, and more according to directions.
  • Uses various machines and hand tools to accomplish tasks.
  • Maintains logs, records, and reports concerning production, machine maintenance, and product inconsistencies.
  • Maintains equipment and conveyors and performs basic repairs when needed.
  • Exhibit teamwork and maintain a positive, team-based attitude; support peers during high demand with overtime as needed.

About the Role:

The Mechanical Assembly Lead is responsible for assembling manufactured products and packing according to specifications. Perform all assignments within acceptable quantity and perfect quality requirements, in keeping with assigned functions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensuring that work is performed safely and that proper use of PPE is adhered to in the area.
  • Leads by example through the 5S Methodology.
  • Assembles machinery, fabricated metal products, electrical equipment, appliances, and more according to directions.
  • Reads blueprints, schematics, or similar documentation, then builds to those specifications.
  • Uses various machines and hand tools to accomplish assigned tasks.
  • Maintains logs, records, and reports concerning production, machine maintenance, and product inconsistencies.
  • Maintains equipment and conveyors and performs basic repairs when needed.
  • Inventories tools, parts, and supplies; contacts the materials handler if supplies are needed.
  • Periodically checks products per company policy to ensure quality and uniform completion; resolves any identified problems and alerts supervisor.
  • Exhibit teamwork in all you do, maintaining a positive and team-based attitude. Support peers in times of high demand by working hours assigned and overtime as required; also, comply with scheduled start/stop times and break periods for the facility.
  • Ability to confidently communicate, interact, and build customer relationships supporting Maverick Power’s culture.
  • Performs other job-related duties as necessary or assigned.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of 4 years’ experience in manufacturing roles
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software as necessary to complete logs or records.
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints and schematics.
  • Detail-oriented and consistent.
  • Works well as a productive member of a team.
  • Ability to properly maintain and perform basic repairs on equipment.
  • Basic ability in mathematics, reading, or writing.
Physical Requirements:
  • Must be able to lift up to 35 pounds at a time.
  • Must be able to navigate the warehouse and reach items both high and low.
  • Prolonged periods sitting, standing, walking, and performing repetitive tasks.
  • Prolonged periods standing on the manufacturing floor and sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must have vision correctable to 20/20 and be able to wear required PPE (hard hat, safety glasses, boots, gloves, etc.).
Work Environment:

May work in various settings at the Maverick Power facilities, in offices, in multiple shops, and in commercial buildings. Maintaining the same position or posture while performing tasks and sitting for prolonged periods.
