Job summary

Maverick Power LLC in Garland, Texas is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer Supervisor to lead the Manufacturing Engineering team in building safe, efficient, and cost-effective processes. You will drive project execution, continuous improvement, and cross-functional collaboration aligned with plant strategy.

This role requires mentoring operations staff, prioritizing engineering projects, and delivering measurable results in productivity, quality, safety and cost amidst a fast-paced, high-growth

Qualifications

  • Bachelor degree in Mechanical, Industrial or Manufacturing Engineering.
  • Minimum of 7 years progressive hands-on experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience leading or supervising engineering teams.
  • Strong experience in manual manufacturing operations, process improvement and production systems.
  • Proven track record of delivering measurable improvements in productivity, throughput, quality, safety and cost.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects, establish priorities, meet deadlines and communicate project status to leadership.
  • Strong communication, coaching, mentoring and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence across other functions.
  • Strong shop-floor leadership and problem-solving skills, in a fast-paced, high growth environment.

Responsibilities

  • Prioritize, assign, and oversee engineering projects, establishing scope, milestones, ownership and deadlines.
  • Lead, coach, and develop Manufacturing Engineers with clear performance expectations.
  • Drive Lean Manufacturing principles, continuous improvement and problem-solving initiatives across Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost and Productivity.
  • Establish standard work, processes and engineering practices across operations and shifts.
  • Partner with Operations, Quality, EHS, Maintenance, Facilities, Supply Chain, R&D, and Product/Design Engineering to implement improvements.
  • Plan, verify, approve, install and implement manufacturing equipment and capital projects with cross-functional involvement.
  • Ensure manufacturing processes meet safety, quality, ergonomics and QMS requirements while mitigating risks.
  • Establish project and performance tracking mechanisms and communicate status to leadership.

About the Role:

The Manufacturing Engineer Supervisor leads the Manufacturing Engineering team in developing implementing, and sustaining a safe, efficient, reliable and cost-effective manufacturing processes. This role is responsible for the team’s performance, project execution, continuous improvement, equipment purchase, comissioning/decomissioning, processes implementation, and cross-functional collaboration, while ensuring engineering priorities are aligned with Plant Manager’s / Directors and operational strategy. This role also mentor Operations personnel to deliver measurable results. This position is ideal for someone who thrives in high-growth environments and enjoys building structure where it does not yet exist.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prioritize, assign, and oversee engineering projects, establishing clear scope, milestones, ownership and deadlines to ensure timely execution and measurable results.
  • Team Leadership and Accountability
    • Lead, coach, and develop Manufacturing Engineers by providing daily direction, setting performance expectations, removing barriers, and holding team members accountable for commitments and results.
  • Operational Excellence
    • Drive Lean Manufacturing Principles, continuous improvement and problem-solving initiatives that improve Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost and Productivity.
  • Standardization and Sustainability
    • Establish standard work, processes and engineering practices, ensure improvements are documented, sustained and replicated across operations and shifts.
  • Cross Functional Leadership
    • Partner with Operations, Quality, EHS, Maintenance, Facilities, Supply Chain, R&D, and Product/Design Engineering to resolve issues and successfully implement process, equipment and process improvements.
  • Equipment and Capital Projects
    • Load the planning, selection, verification of feasibility, approvals, installation, commissioning and implementation of manufacturing equipment and capital projects, ensuring appropriate cross-functional involvement, training and operational readiness.
  • Safety, Quality and Compliance
    • Ensure manufacturing processes meet safety, quality, ergonomics and QMS requirements while proactively identifying and mitigating operational risks associated with growth and process changes.
  • Performance Management and Communication
    • Establish project and performance tracking mechanisms, review progress regularly, communicate status to leadership and proactively elevate risks, delays, resource constraints and issues.
  • Capability and Culture Development
    • Build a culture of ownership, execution, accountability, and continuous improvement while developing the Manufacturing Engineering team’s technical, problem solving and leadership capabilities.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor degree in Mechanical, Industrial or Manufacturing Engineering

  • Demonstrated experience leading Manufacturing Engineers and cross-functional teams, including setting priorities, assigning work, and holding team members accountable.
  • Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement, problem solving techniques and project management.
  • Experience developing and implementing standard processes, standard work, work instructions, SOPs, business cases, cost-benefit analysis and engineering documentation.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects, establish priorities, meet deadlines, and communicate project status and risks to leadership.
  • Strong communication, coaching, mentoring and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence across other functions.
  • Strong shop-floor leadership and problem-solving skills, comfortable working directly with production personnel in a fast paced, high growth, highly manual environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master’s degree in engineering, Business, Operations or related fields.
  • Lean Six Sigma Specialist / Green Belt / Black Belt certification or demonstrated experience applying Lean Manufacturing Tools and Continuous Improvement Methodologies.
  • Experience supervising or leading Manufacturing Engineering temas.
  • Experience with capital equipment, equipment implementation, production line launches, plant expansions, or manufacturing reconfigurations.
  • Ability to provide training and mentor.
  • Experience in Low Voltage, Medium Voltage, Switchgears, electrical equipment or complex manual assembly manufacturing environments is a plus.
Physical Requirements:
  • Must be able to lift up to 35 pounds at a time.
  • Prolonged periods standing on the manufacturing floor and sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must have vision correctable to 20/20 and be able to wear required PPE (hard hat, safety glasses, boots, gloves, etc.).
  • Duties are performed in a loud production setting subject to extreme temperatures. Some duties may be required to be performed outside.
  • Prolonged periods sitting, standing, walking, and performing repetitive tasks.
Work Environment:

May work in various settings at the Maverick Power facilities, in offices, in multiple shops, and in commercial buildings. Maintaining the same position or posture while performing tasks and sitting for prolonged periods.
