MECHANICAL ASSEMBLER/WELDER

DESCRIPTION FOR ASSEMBLER:

Assembles a limited range of standard units on floor or bench. These assemblies are composed of a number of small or medium sized parts that require adjusting, fitting and aligning to close tolerances, or larger parts having a limited number of parts that are assembled to larger parts. Must be able to bend hydraulic tubing with tube benders to sample tubes provided. Must be able to plan assembly procedures. Performs hand operations such as filing, drilling, tapping, etc.

DESCRIPTION FOR WELDER:

Must be able to do out of position and in position welding, work with or without fixtures on small or large weldments. Must be familiar with both wire feed and electrode welders, AC and DC, and be able to set the correct voltage and select correct size of wire or electrodes needed.

This job requires both of these job skills. Must be able to lift, push/pull, leverage and carry up to 50 pounds without assistance. A high school diploma or GED is required; additional technical or vocational certificate, or previous job experience is preferred.
