Job summary

PacSci EMC is hiring a Mechanical Assembler for a weekend shift (Fri–Sun, 5 AM–6 PM) in Hollister, CA. The role focuses on inert material weighing, pressing, and assembly under supervision, with emphasis on safety around energetic devices.

On-the-job training is provided; candidates must lift up to 50 lbs and read/write English. Certifications may be required for certain tasks.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Must understand and speak English; read and write in English.

Responsibilities

• Work under direct supervision and perform inert assembly operations.
• Weigh and press inert & energetic materials; set up analytical balance.
• Install sub-assemblies and perform related assembly tasks.
• Possess dexterity for safe handling of explosive devices and basic soldering if required.

Shift:

Weekend Shift, Friday-Sunday 5 AM-6PM

Your Role:

As a Mechanical Assembler you can expect to be our go-to for driving continuous improvement in the operations and assembly process. More specifically, in this role, you:

• Work under direct supervision.

• Weigh and press inert & energetic materials.

• Set up and use analytical balance.

• Perform inert assembly operations.

• Minor cabling, potting, tinning and assembly work.

• Set up and use powder press for pressing operation.

• Some minor set-up capability for specific equipment.

• May have some basic soldering experience.

• Performs various production assembly operations on components and subassemblies.

• Uses visual aids, drawings and verbal and written instruction to assemble, modify, re-work or re-assemble units. Receives detailed instruction on new assignments.

• Install sub-assemblies.

• Must display proficient dexterity to insure safe handling of explosive devices.

• All work is performed in explosive handling areas.

• If required, attend offsite training classes to maintain certification requirements. (i.e. JSTD)

• Must be able to lift up to 50lbs

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred

• Will provide on the job training (OJT)

• Must have the ability to understand and speak English, as well as read and write in English.

Preferred:

• Industry experience

• Ability to work overtime.

Bonus or Equity

This position is also eligible for bonus as part of the total compensation package.

Pay Range

The hourly pay range for this role in local currency is $20-30/hr.
