Job summary

SPX Technologies in Mason, Ohio, is seeking a Mechanical Assembler for Cincinnati Fan and Strobic Air Technologies to build industrial fans and air-handling equipment from engineering drawings, using hand and power tools, and ensuring quality.

You will inspect, test, and adjust assemblies to meet safety and quality standards, work with the manufacturing team, and maintain a clean, safe work environment in line with 5S principles.

Qualifications

  • One year of manufacturing or mechanical assembly experience preferred.
  • Ability to use basic hand and power tools safely.
  • Experience with electro‑mechanical equipment is helpful for applicable assignments.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble industrial fans, blowers, and air-handling equipment.
  • Read and follow engineering drawings and work instructions.
  • Inspect parts and assemblies for defects and ensure quality.
  • Operate hand and power tools and precision measuring instruments.
  • Maintain clean, safe work areas per 5S standards.
  • Coordinate staging and sequencing of parts.

How you will make an Impact (Job Summary)

SPX is a diverse team of unique individuals who all make an impact. As an Assembler for Cincinnati Fan and Strobic Air Technologies, you will build industrial fans, blowers, and air-handling equipment using engineering drawings, work instructions, hand and power tools, and precision measuring equipment. You will inspect and test your work to ensure products meet safety, quality, and production requirements while working collaboratively with the manufacturing team.

What you can expect in this role (Job Responsibilities)

Safety

  • Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and required safe work practices.
  • Maintain clean, orderly work areas and equipment in accordance with 5S standards.
  • Ensure equipment and tools are used properly and safely. Report needed repairs, unsafe conditions, or equipment issues to the team leader or supervisor.

Quality

  • Inspect parts and assemblies for defects and verify work meets applicable drawings, specifications, and quality requirements.
  • Test, inspect, and adjust completed units for fit, tolerances, operation, and quality.
  • Identify and resolve assembly inconsistencies or issues within the scope of the role; elevate concerns when additional support is needed.
  • Monitor quality of own work and immediately report defective material,unusual conditions, and/or operating difficulties to team leaders or supervisor.
  • Perform light maintenance on tools, equipment, machines, and other devices used in the normal course of the work performed.
  • Read and follow work orders, engineering drawings, blueprints, bills of material, and work instructions to complete the correct assembly sequence.
  • Operate hand and power tools such as drills, grinders, screwdrivers, and torque tools, as well as precision measuring instruments such as calipers and micrometers.
  • Assemble components by hand or with hand tools, portable power tools, fixtures, and other equipment necessary to complete finished products.
  • Coordinate staging and sequencing of parts, production items, and product components.
  • Load/unload parts, items, and components using hand truck, pallet jacks, hoists, cranes, and other mechanical aids.
  • Mark parts, attach nameplates, and document issues.

Required Experience

  • One year of manufacturing, mechanical assembly, maintenance, construction, automotive, or other relevant hands‑on experience preferred; equivalent demonstrated mechanical aptitude may be considered.
  • Mechanical aptitude and demonstrated ability to use basic hand and power tools safely. Experience with electro‑mechanical equipment or electronic instruments is helpful for applicable assignments.

Education & Certifications
