Job summary

Atlas Copco Group Co.,Ltd is seeking an on-site assembler in Rock Hill, SC. You will perform mechanical and electrical assembly of compressors, generators, pumps, or medical equipment following detailed work instructions.

We value safety, quality, and meeting takt time. Candidates should have a high school diploma or GED, 0–1 years in manufacturing, and basic English communication with ability to read drawings and use hand/power tools.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; technical training is a plus.
• 0-1 years of manufacturing or assembly experience preferred.
• Ability to read and follow work instructions and basic drawings.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English; basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Assemble products following instructions to ensure safety and quality.
• Follow line lead or supervisor guidance and use correct tools.
• Meet takt time and on-time delivery expectations.
• Support 5S and Kaizen improvements on the line.
• Maintain a clean, organized workstation and report safety issues.

Job description

Your role

As an assembler, your mission is to perform assembly of products by following the process to ensure Safety, Quality, and Takt time.

Safety

• Follow all applicable safety rules and regulations of the organization.
• Report risk observations, near misses, and incidents on time.
• Use all necessary PPE required for the assigned job.
• Contribute suggestions for improving overall safety.

Quality

• Perform all tasks with a “First Time Right” mindset.
• Use work instructions to perform mechanical and/or electrical assemblies for products like compressors, generators, pumps, or medical equipment.
• Follow all quality checkpoints before sending the machine to the next stage.
• Ask for help when needed from the Line Lead or Supervisor.
• Use only the correct tools identified for the job.
• Support 5S initiatives to keep the workplace neat, clean, and safe.
• Maintain discipline on the line (breaks, rules, rework, etc.).

Delivery

• Complete tasks within the specified time.
• Respect shop order takt time (efficiency, on-time delivery).
• Support rework and repair when needed.

Cost

• Ensure First Time Right to eliminate rework or scrap.
• Respect and improve standard assembly time via Kaizen cards.

To succeed, you will need

• High school diploma or GED required; technical training is a plus.
• 0-1 years of manufacturing, assembly, mechanical, or related experience preferred.
• Previous professional assembly experience is not required; candidates should possess basic mechanical aptitude.
• Experience using hand tools and power tools.
• Ability to read and follow work instructions, assembly procedures, and basic drawings.
• Knowledge of air compressors, generators, pumps, medical equipment, or similar products is a plus.
• Basic computer skills required.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English.
