Job summary

Atlas Copco Group in Voorheesville, NY is seeking a Mechanical Assembler to join our on-site manufacturing team. You will assemble and disassemble compressors and related equipment, perform mechanical and electrical work, and ensure quality through hydrostatic testing.

The role reports to the Package Manufacturing Supervisor and requires reading wiring diagrams and operating cranes and fork trucks. The position is on-site with a Monday–Thursday night shift.

Qualifications

  • 1 year of training in Electrical or Mechanical field or 2 years of equivalent experience.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to read and understand assembly and wiring drawings.
  • Experience with common hand and pneumatic tools.
  • Certification to operate cranes and fork trucks.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble and disassemble compressors, blowers, and related equipment using hand tools, power tools, cranes, and fork trucks.
  • Perform mechanical and electrical assembly, including motor/compressor alignment and wiring.
  • Install instrument wiring and electrical components per wiring drawings.
  • Conduct hydrostatic testing and other verification steps to ensure quality and compliance.
  • Follow safety rules and OSHA requirements to maintain a safe work environment.
  • Work second shift: Mon–Thu, 3:00pm–1:30am EST.

Your role

As a Mechanical Assembler, you play a vital role in our production process, ensuring that our products meet the highest standards of quality and precision. Your expertise and dedication are essential in manufacturing products according to detailed specifications and schedules. By joining our team, you will contribute to our commitment to excellence and help us deliver outstanding results to our customers.You will report to the Package Manufacturing Supervisor.

You will

  • Assemble and disassemble compressors, blowers, and related equipment using hand tools, power tools, cranes, and fork trucks.
  • Perform mechanical and electrical assembly work, including motor/compressor alignment, electrical box assembly, and system installation.
  • Install and connect instrument wiring, electrical components, and oil/water piping by following assembly and wiring drawings.
  • Conduct hydrostatic testing and other verification steps to ensure equipment meets quality and operational standards.
  • Follow all company safety rules and procedures, maintaining compliance with OSHA requirements and contributing to a safe work environment.
  • Work second shift: Monday through Thursday 3:00pm to 1:30am EST.

You have one year of training in the Electrical or Mechanical field or two years of equivalent experience.
