Job summary

Collins Aerospace in Foley, Alabama is seeking a Mechanical Assembler I for an onsite, first-shift position. You will build components per engineering specs, follow safety procedures, and maintain workstation inventory.

The role requires HS diploma or equivalent and experience reading blueprints. You will lift up to 20 pounds and stand up to 8 hours daily, with opportunities to contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

  • HS diploma (or GED) or vocational/technical education in related discipline.
  • Experience reading and interpreting blueprints, diagrams, and engineering drawings.
  • Experience with hand tools, electrical tools, hand cutters, measuring equipment and light equipment.
  • Self-directed with ability to work in a team to resolve questions.
  • Experience in manufacturing, assembly, or construction/facilities.

Responsibilities

  • Work onsite at Foley, AL location (1st shift 6:30am–3pm).
  • Assemble equipment and products according to engineering specification changes.
  • Perform work per quality standards and safety procedures.
  • Maintain inventory of product in workstations.
  • Perform quality checks, identify defects, and record issues.
  • Participate in CI activities for continuous improvement.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area.
  • Drill holes, install fasteners, rout and trim parts, apply primers and sealants.
  • Follow detailed instructions and lift up to 20 pounds.
  • Stand for up to 8 hours daily and perform other duties as assigned.

You will be supporting our A320 NEO aircraft technology. What You Will Do:


  • Work Onsite at Foley, AL Location 1st Shift (6:30am - 3pm) Monday -Friday

  • Assemble equipment and products according to engineering specification changes

  • Perform all work in accordance with quality standards and established safety procedures

  • Maintain inventory of product in workstations

  • Perform quality work checks, identify product defects and record identified defects

  • Participate in compliance inspection continuous improvement (CI) activities

  • Maintain a clean and safe work area

  • Drill holes, install fasteners, rout and trim parts, and apply primers and sealants

  • Understand and follow detailed instructions

  • Lift and carry up to 20 pounds

  • Able to work in a standing position up to a minimum of 8 hours per day

  • Safely perform other duties as assigned


Qualifications:


  • Typically requires HS diploma (or equivalent, e.g. G.E.D. in the US) or vocational/technical education in related discipline

  • Experience reading and interpreting blueprints, diagrams, and engineering drawings to assemble equipment

  • Experience with any of the following: hand tools, electrical tools, hand cutters, measuring equipment and light equipment

  • Self-directed & action oriented with the ability to work in a team environment to resolve most questions and problems

  • Relevant manufacturing, assembly, and/or construction / facilities experience
