Job summary

Siemens in Wendell, North Carolina, is hiring a Mechanical Assembler Level I for the GIS Production Team on the 1st Shift. You will build and assemble Low and Medium Voltage Electrical Distribution Equipment, such as switchgear, switchboards and breakers. Minimum Education: High School/GED.

The role requires basic English, physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds, and legal work authorization in the United States. Shift hours are 6:00AM to 2:30PM, hourly rate $19.00.

Qualifications

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform basic English communication.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble, sub-assemblies, parts kits, and aftermarket parts orders, including mechanical assembly of steel components.
  • Record job transactions, read BOMs, follow layouts and assembly drawings.
  • Adhere to Environmental and Occupational Health and Safety policies, with a commitment to continuous improvement and be a strong team player.
  • Learn proper use of torque wrenches and how to apply specified torque values.
  • Learn to accurately use measuring tools, such as tape measures and other standard measuring devices.
  • Develop the ability to identify common mechanical parts and basic electrical components.

We are looking for Mechanical Assemblers Level I for our GIS Production Team on the 1st Shift. This position will be based in Wendell, NC.

As a Mechanical Assembler you will be responsible for the building and assembling of Low and Medium Voltage Electrical Distribution Equipment, such as Switchgears, Switchboards and Breakers.

Shift Hours: 6:00AM - 2:30PM

  1. Ability to occasionally lift parts or sub‑assemblies weighing up to 50 pounds.
  2. Basic proficiency in English, including the ability to read, write, and communicate verbally.
  3. Must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a continuous basis without the need for current or future employer‑sponsored work authorization.

  1. Prior experience with mechanical assembly or technical hands on work
