Job summary

Volt is hiring an Assembler in Mansfield, Ohio. You will construct and align mechanical components to tight specifications using a range of tools and measurement devices. You’ll read blueprints and BOMs, interpret hydraulic/pneumatic schematics, route wiring, and operate cranes and forklifts safely.

This is a full-time/contract role with growth through cross-training. The position requires a HS diploma or GED and 1–2 years of assembly experience, with certifications pursued within 90 days.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• 1–2 years mechanical assembly experience.
• Proficient in measuring instruments (tape measure, calipers, micrometer).
• Ability to obtain forklift and overhead crane certifications within 90 days of hire.
• Strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 35 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Construct, fit, and align mechanical components to exact specifications using hand tools and precision equipment.
• Read, interpret, and execute assembly operations from blueprints, BOMs, and order packets.
• Interpret hydraulic/pneumatic schematics to install fluid lines and set up CNC tube-bending equipment.
• Analyze electrical schematics to route wiring and terminate control panels and sub-assemblies.
• Safely operate overhead cranes, hoists, and forklifts to move heavy assemblies in the facility.
• Engage with the site skills training matrix to maintain cross-functional utility across assembly disciplines.
• Adhere to safety, quality standards, and manufacturing best practices.
