Job summary

Vactor Mfg. Inc. in Streator, IL is seeking a skilled Mechanical Assembler to build components and sub-assemblies per drawings and verbal instructions. You will read blueprints, operate overhead cranes and hand tools, and maintain a clean, safe workplace.

Candidate should have at least 2 years of mechanical assembly experience, the ability to lift up to 50 lbs, and endure prolonged postures. Overtime may be required; benefits include health coverage and a 401(k) plan.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years mechanical assembly experience with strong mechanical aptitude.
• Must be able to read blueprints, hydraulic schematics, diagrams, and build tickets.
• Ability to operate overhead crane, hoist, miscellaneous air and electric hand tools.
• Ability to work in prolonged postures (bending, stooping, kneeling, walking, standing, and squatting) while performing all job tasks.
• Ability to climb ladders.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
