Industrial Electric Manufacturing (IEM) in San Antonio, TX is seeking experienced Mechanical Assemblers to join our team. This on-site role will focus on fabricating and assembling electrical distribution components according to drawings and specifications, with safety and quality as top priorities.

The position is based temporarily in NE San Antonio until our new plant opens; permanent site is Brooks, 7515 Inner Circle Dr., San Antonio, 78235.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in mechanical assembly using mechanical equipment.
• Ability to interpret drawings, work independently.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and manual dexterity.
• Must be a team player with a strong work ethic.

Responsibilities

• Read and follow diagrams, drawings, specs and BOMs to fabricate/assemble materials and equipment.
• Use measuring devices to ensure accuracy and quality.
• Mount electrical components and assemble switchgear devices.
• Layout and frame enclosures; drilling, tapping, mounting bus bar sections.
• Perform finishing work and paint touch-ups as directed.
• Comply with safety, quality, and work rules; support team as needed.

IEM is currently seeking experienced Mechanical Assemblers to join our team inSan Antonio, TX andwill report into the Operations Manager.

This position will be based temporarily in NE San Antonio while our new manufacturing plant is coming online. Our permanent location is approximately 25 minutes away at Brooks, 7515 Inner Circle Dr., San Antonio, 78235. The position is also 100% in‑office and does not offer remote work.

Key Responsibilities

• Read, interpret and follow basic diagrams, engineering drawings, specifications, bills of materials, and other instructions or procedures to accurately fabricate and assemble materials and equipment.
• Use multiple measuring devices such as scales, feeler gauges, rulers, micrometers, calipers tee square, machinist square and tape measure to accurately and precisely perform work.
• Mount electrical components include circuit breakers, switches, transformers, relays, contactors, terminals, input/output devices and/or all other related switchgear electrical devices.
• Layout and frame enclosures
• Drilling, tapping, punching, mounting and installing bus bar sections per drawings or instructions
• Perform metal corrections and touch‑up painting as directed
• Install and/or modify various metallic or non‑metallic items and components
• Comply with all safety, quality and work rules, guidelines and regulations
• The candidate will be expected to perform additional duties as assigned to support the team and organization (training provided)
• Flexible and adaptable team player who operates with agility and resourcefulness and thrives in an often‑changing environment. You will be operating with a start‑up mindset and must be willing to help wherever needed - "not my job" is an unacceptable response.

• 3 + years of experience in mechanical assembly using mechanical equipment

Physical Demands

• Vision: Long periods of close work on small fonts and fine print on drawings and ability to see small or detailed items.

Environment

Shop/warehouse. Not climate controlled. Exposure to excessive heat and cold, wet/humid conditions, noise/vibration, hazards, dust and fumes.
