Job summary

Sea Box, Inc. is seeking a mechanical assembler to fabricate and assemble parts on the production floor. You will read blueprints, set up tools, and verify parts meet specifications while maintaining safety standards.

The role requires 1–2 years of assembling experience, a high school diploma, and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Onsite work with opportunities to contribute to cost and efficiency improvements is available.

Qualifications

  • Study assembly instructions, blueprint specs, and parts lists.
  • Position parts and subassemblies by reading measurements.
  • Assemble components and verify proper fit and connections.
  • Measure completed components to verify specifications.
  • Identify and report safety hazards and efficiency opportunities.
  • Maintain a clean, safe work environment and complete forms as needed.
  • Lift up to 50 lbs and perform other duties as assigned.

Description

Assemble or fabricate mechanical parts, pieces or products using a variety of tools and equipment according to required specifications in a specific area of a production line or production floor in a manufacturing organization.

Job Summary:

This position reports to the Department Supervisor.

Responsibilities:
  • Accident prevention – actively identify, correct and/or report safety hazards to prevent accidents.
  • Actively identify and pursue cost reduction and efficiency/profit improvement opportunities.
  • Support the ISO 9001 Quality Management System and the Sea Box Quality Policy calling for self-inspection of your work product.
  • Prepares work to be accomplished by studying assembly instructions, blueprint specifications, and parts lists, gathering parts, subassemblies, tools, and materials.
  • Positions parts and subassemblies by using templates or reading measurements.
  • Assembles components by examining connections for correct fit, fastening parts and subassemblies.
  • Verifies specifications by measuring completed component.
  • Resolves assembly problems by altering dimensions to meet specifications; notifying supervisor to
  • Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Documents actions by completing production and quality forms.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
  • Lifting production objects of up to 50 lbs.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Must be able to fulfill essential job functions in a consistent state of alertness and safe manner.

Location:

This position is onsite (non-remote) at the Company’s corporate headquarters in Cinnaminson, NJ. This position may occasionally require working overtime and/or working outside of the Company’s normal hours of operation.

Requirements

Knowledge and skills: Technical knowledge and ability to read blueprints, drawings etc. Ability to use tools (e.g. clamps) and machines (e.g. presses). Good understanding of quality control principles. Good communication skills (verbal and written). Excellent hand-eye coordination and physical condition.

Education: High school diploma; higher degree from a technical school is a plus.

Experience: 1 - 2 years experience as an assembler.
