Komatsu’s Mechanical Assemblers perform a wide range of component and final assembly work in the production of Komatsu’s off-road mining trucks. Responsibilities include building and testing brake assemblies, installing hydraulic components, and assembling chassis and powertrain structures.

Key Job Responsibilities
  • Perform mechanical and electrical assembly functions, including hydraulic equipment assembly, mechanical component installation, and equipment testing prior to shipment.
  • Work from engineering prints, routings, and procedures with minimal supervision.
  • Ensure quality and safety of own work, using appropriate protective equipment.
  • Assist Electrical Assemblers by installing harness structures, cables, and power cables, without making final connections.
  • Disassemble and load equipment for shipments as directed.
  • Perform light carpentry tasks such as designing, sawing, and building boxes, crates, and ladders.
  • Utilize information systems to perform job duties effectively.
  • Operate equipment and perform inspections, documenting results appropriately.
  • Collaborate with Engineering on new model introductions or continuous improvements.
Qualifications/Requirements
  • Minimum of three years’ experience as an automotive, diesel, or heavy equipment mechanic, or in similar roles such as aviation mechanic, marine mechanic, appliance repair, or HVAC involving complex assembly and troubleshooting.
  • Experience reading and utilizing blueprints for assembly or troubleshooting.
  • Basic math skills: addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
  • Computer literacy for documentation and information retrieval.
  • Ability to work safely in an industrial environment.
  • Ability to complete a physical exam consistent with DOL Medium duty work requirements, including drug testing.
