Job summary

Aerotek is seeking an Electro-Mechanical Assembler/Integration Technician in Mission Viejo, CA, to support defense programs in a clean, high-growth manufacturing setting. You will perform complex electro-mechanical assembly and integration work with engineering and production teams, on missiles-related projects, on first shift.

The role requires hands-on experience with mechanical and electrical assemblies, wiring diagrams, soldering, and testing, using a wide range of tools and test equipment.

Qualifications

• At least 4 years of experience in manufacturing (aerospace/electronics/medical devices) performing mechanical and/or electrical assemblies.
• Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams, blueprints, and schematics and follow instructions.
• Proficiency with a wide range of hand and power tools and test equipment.
• Experience with electronic and electro-mechanical assembly, debugging and testing.
• Familiarity with RF systems, PCBA troubleshooting, and production integration.

Responsibilities

• Perform mechanical and electrical assemblies and integration tasks following blueprints and wiring diagrams.
• Assemble complex electro-mechanical systems including wire harnesses, test racks, and junction boxes.
• Use hand and power tools to complete assembly and integration work.
• Conduct soldering and component fabrication as required.
• Validate and test electronic components with multimeters, oscilloscopes, and analyzers.
• Run functional checkouts and diagnose issues in integrated systems.
• Troubleshoot PCBA assemblies and document issues with tickets.
• Support RF system testing and ensure proper performance.

Job Title: Electro-Mechanical Assembler

This Electro-Mechanical Assembler / Integration Technician role supports advanced military and defense programs in a clean, high-growth manufacturing environment in the Santa Ana/Costa Mesa area. You will perform complex electro-mechanical assembly and integration work, collaborating closely with engineering and production teams while working on cutting-edge systems for the missiles team.

Responsibilities

• Perform mechanical and electrical assemblies and integration tasks in a manufacturing setting, following detailed blueprints, wiring diagrams, and assembly instructions.

• Assemble complex electro-mechanical systems, including high-quality wire harnesses, test racks, junction boxes, and associated components.

• Use common hand and power tools such as torque wrenches, pliers, wrenches, screwdrivers, depth micrometers, calipers, dial indicators, pressure gauges, multimeters, test boxes, and specialized test equipment to complete assembly and integration work.

• Conduct electro-mechanical and electronic assembly tasks, including soldering and component fabrication as required.

• Perform validation and testing of electronic components using multimeters, oscilloscopes, network analyzers, test racks, and other diagnostic equipment.

• Run functional checkouts and tests on assembled systems and diagnose issues discovered during these processes.

• Troubleshoot electronic box assemblies and PCBA-related issues, documenting findings and writing detailed issue tickets for failures.

• Support RF system testing and operation, ensuring proper performance and identifying and resolving issues.

• Apply common air-frame construction techniques such as installing rivets, mechanical fasteners, nut plates, and related hardware.

• Collaborate effectively with engineering and production teams, communicating clearly in both verbal and written form regarding build status, issues, and improvements.

• Adapt quickly to changing roles and responsibilities while working in a fast-paced, challenging environment with shifting priorities.

• Follow all established procedures, quality standards, and safety guidelines while working on sensitive defense-related assemblies.

• Participate in overtime and occasional weekend work when needed to meet production schedules and support project deadlines.

Essential Skills

• At least 4 years of experience working in a manufacturing environment, preferably in aerospace, electronics, or medical device industries, performing mechanical and/or electrical assemblies and integration.

• Strong proficiency with common hand tools and power tools, including torque wrenches, pliers, wrenches, screwdrivers, depth micrometers, calipers, dial indicators, pressure gauges, multimeters, test boxes, and specialized test equipment.

• Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams, blueprints, and schematics and follow detailed assembly instructions accurately.

• Working knowledge of common electrical components and basic electrical principles used in assemblies and integrations.

• Proficiency with computers, including use of standard web browsers and word processing applications for documentation and communication.

• Ability to work effectively in a high-paced, challenging environment and rapidly adapt to changing roles and responsibilities.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills for effective collaboration with engineering and production teams.

• Hands-on experience with electro-mechanical assembly, mechanical assembly, and electronic assembly in a production setting.

• Demonstrated troubleshooting skills for mechanical, electrical, and electronic assemblies.

• Comfort working in a defense and missiles-related environment and adherence to strict safety and quality standards.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience mechanically assembling complex electro-mechanical assemblies, including high-quality wire harnesses, test racks, junction boxes, and associated components.

• Experience with hand soldering and component fabrication for electronic and electro-mechanical assemblies.

• Experience in performing validation and testing of electronic components using multimeters, oscilloscopes, network analyzers, and test racks.

• Familiarity with common air-frame construction techniques, including installation of rivets, mechanical fasteners, and nut plates.

• Experience with electronic box assembly troubleshooting and writing detailed issue tickets for failures and nonconformances.

• Ability to run functional checkouts and tests on integrated systems and diagnose issues discovered during these processes.

• Exposure to RF systems, including testing, operation, and troubleshooting.

• Experience with PCBA (printed circuit board assembly) and related troubleshooting activities.

• Experience in production, assembly, repair, and integration work within a manufacturing environment.

• Comfort using a broad range of hand and power tools and working from blueprints and schematics in an integration role.

Work Environment

The role is based in a clean, well-organized manufacturing environment within a large company that is growing and expanding, including newly funded facility development. You will work on the 1st shift day schedule from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., with the possibility of overtime during the week and weekend shifts as needed. The setting involves working closely with the missiles team on advanced defense-related assemblies, using a wide range of hand tools, power tools, and electronic test equipment. The facility emphasizes safety, quality, and collaboration, providing a structured yet fast-paced environment where production and engineering teams work side by side.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Mission Viejo, CA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $36.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
