Paradigm Information Services in Hillsboro, OR is seeking a Mechanical Assembler for a 6-month contract to hire on-site role. You will prepare and complete electronic and mechanical assemblies, following detailed build instructions and working with small components.

Prior manufacturing or electronics assembly experience is preferred, focusing on accuracy and safety. The position offers comprehensive benefits and opportunities to contribute to production through meticulous assembly and labeling

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience in manufacturing, mechanical or electronics assembly preferred.
• Ability to read and follow assembly instructions, BOMs, checklists, and build documentation.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to work accurately with small components.
• Ability to perform repetitive hand and assembly tasks.
• Familiarity with IPC-A-610 Class 2 standards preferred.
• Basic computer skills including Word and Excel.
• LEAN manufacturing and ISO 9000 processes knowledge.
• Ability to follow ITAR requirements and workplace safety procedures.
• Ability to occasionally lift up to 20 pounds and distinguish colors/small components.

Responsibilities

• Follow weekly build/ship and production schedule for the department via immediate supervisor/team lead and inform if schedule will not be met.
• Prepare the customer fixtures for press fit.
• Finish the buildup of circuit boards from touch up according to specifications.
• Ensure proper labeling of circuit boards before sending quality control or testing.
• Inform supervisor or lead of any issues found on incoming boards to get directions on how to fix.
• Audit kits to ensure correct components and counts.
• Keep production area clean and maintained.
• Redline and communicate documentation discrepancies to supervisor.
• Communicate any quality issues within 15 minutes of finding.
• Keep safety stock of production consumables and order supplies as needed.

Job Summary

Paradigm is seeking a Mechanical Assembler to support our industry leading Client. This position is responsible for preparing and completing electronic and mechanical assemblies before they move to quality control or testing. The ideal candidate has experience in manufacturing, electronics assembly, or computer components and is comfortable following detailed build instructions, working with small components, and performing repetitive hands-on assembly work. Candidates with two or more years of related experience may qualify toward the higher end of the pay range.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous experience in manufacturing, mechanical assembly, electronics assembly, or computer components is preferred.
• Ability to read and follow assembly instructions, bills of materials, checklists, and build documentation.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to work accurately with small components.
• Ability to perform repetitive hand and assembly tasks.
• Familiarity with IPC-A-610 Class 2 standards is preferred.
• Basic computer, Microsoft Word and Excel skills.
• Ability to learn LEAN manufacturing and ISO 9000 processes.
• Ability to follow ESD, chemical, MSDS, and workplace safety procedures.
• Ability to comply with ITAR requirements.
• Ability to occasionally lift up to 20 pounds and accurately distinguish between colors and small components.
