Job Description
The Mechanical Assembler II is responsible for assembling parts on multiple types of units or subassemblies using hand tools, small power tools, and other special equipment. In addition, assemblers may reassemble or rework units as required.
- Produce quality products by assembling equipment sub-assemblies, modules, and top-level machine systems, setting up equipment according to engineering specifications, making adjustments, and measuring to exact tolerances.
- Verify conformance of parts to stock list and blueprints.
- Lay out hole locations and drill/tap holes on parts for assembly.
- Verify alignment and tolerances of moving parts.
- Test operation of assembly manually or with powered controls.
- Assemble, set up, and operate machines to verify functioning, capabilities, and conformity to specifications using wrenches, tools, calipers, and gauges.
- Operate lathe and other metalworking machines to manufacture or repair parts as needed.
- Perform quality control inspections on all parts and components, comparing finished parts to blueprints.
- Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with safety processes.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent plus 1+ years of related experience and/or training, or equivalent.
- Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and manuals.
- Proficiency with basic machine shop equipment, hand tools, forklift, crane, and material handling equipment.
- Ability to use measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
- Problem-solving skills and ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Flexibility to work overtime and around scheduled production hours.
- Strong safety awareness and habits.
- Preferred: 1+ years experience with mechanical, electrical, motion control components and systems.
- Ability to obtain necessary visas/work documentation for travel.
