Job summary

CCA Professional Recruiting seeks a Mechanical Application Engineer to design and develop offsite manufactured modular building components, applying strong mechanical systems experience in P&ID, hydronic piping, HVAC, chillers, and related infrastructure.

The role blends technical depth with practical execution, collaborating with design, manufacturing, and construction teams to ensure safety, compliance, and cost efficiency from concept to installation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution.
• 4+ years of engineering analysis and design in mechanical building systems.
• Experience with P&ID diagramming for piping/instrumentation.
• Hydronic piping experience in HVAC or central plants preferred.
• Background in HVAC contracting or university/hospital facilities.
• PE license preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop mechanical system designs for offsite manufacturing projects.
• Create and interpret P&ID diagrams for HVAC and piping systems.
• Design and support hydronic piping tied to HVAC and heating applications.
• Collaborate with design, electrical, structural, and construction teams.
• Produce detailed drawings, BOMs, and technical models.
• Participate in client/coordination meetings to resolve design challenges.
• Review drawings and vendor documents for compliance.
• Evaluate materials and construction methods for cost efficiency.
• Work with manufacturing to improve production and installation.
• Conduct shop/field visits to verify constructability and success.
