Job summary

Rolls-Royce is seeking an Applications Engineer – Mechanical to support the integration of power generation equipment on customer projects within the Project System Business. This role is based in Mankato, MN and requires collaboration with sales, engineering, project management and vendors.

Key duties include reviewing P&ID diagrams and drawings, performing calculations, mentoring junior engineers, and ensuring compliance with RRSA procedures. Travel up to 30% is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent with 3+ years of mechanical engineering experience.
• Willingness to travel for business trips up to 30%.
• Authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Design walk-in enclosures and housing for generator sets, KPP, BESS, or other systems.
• Define system requirements with clients and coordinate ventilation, piping and sound attenuation.
• Prepare engineering calculations and drawings per codes and Rolls‑Royce standards.
• Verify and confirm manufacturing drawings, P&ID diagrams, schematics and data sheets.
