Job summary

Rolls-Royce is seeking an Sr. Applications Engineer to develop and test power generation systems, interpreting equations, sizing subsystems, and validating performance from test data. The role emphasizes design influence and analysis across mechanical and electrical outputs.

Candidates should have a strong background in engine testing, data acquisition, and thermodynamics, with travel expected up to 10% for domestic and international assignments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Automotive, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering with 5+ years’ experience in testing mechanical and electrical systems.
• In lieu of a degree, at least 9 years’ experience in testing and validating power generation systems or combustion engines.
• Willingness to travel 10% domestically and internationally as needed.

Responsibilities

• Specify, size, and select subsystem components for power systems designs according to Engineering Guidelines
• Test and validate top level power systems as well as sub-level power system components
• Contribute toward design of new product via product sizing and selection
• Review and verify product performance via testing
• Assess reliability performance of product versus requirement
• Post-process test data and develop engineering reports
