Leidos Defense Systems' Mechanical Design & Analysis Department is seeking Mechanical Analysis Interns to join a diverse team and work on unique solutions for complex problems in Huntsville, AL. You will gain hands-on experience in structural and/or thermal analysis, FEMAP, and Ansys, with mentorship from engineers and real ownership of analysis tasks.

Ideal candidates are working toward Mechanical or Aerospace degrees, have a 3.5+ GPA, and can obtain a DoD Secret clearance.

Competenze

• Must be pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or equivalent from an ABET-accredited college or university.
• U.S. Citizen.
• Overall GPA of 3.5 or above.
• Willingness to work in-office in Huntsville, AL.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance.

Mansioni

• Support engineering analysis activities for DoD customers using a broad engineering knowledge base.
• Develop structural and/or thermal analysis models using FEMAP (structural) or Ansys (thermal) to validate design.
• Calculate margins to determine design viability.
• Collaborate with other disciplines to produce excellent solutions for customers.
• Present analysis results to senior engineering staff.
