Job summary

Essential Duties:

• Perform maintenance duties, jobs, tasks, functions, and responsibilities as assigned by work orders or directed by supervisors to maintain school system vehicles.
• Follow work schedules as assigned by supervisors to maintain school system vehicles, including off‑hour emergency maintenance situations.
• Complete all work orders as assigned in a timely, effective, and efficient manner.
• Maintain, care for, and keep up with all assigned equipment, materials, and supplies necessary to fulfill duties and responsibilities.
• Adhere to all safety rules and regulations; follow all equipment, material, and product use directions.
• Adhere to all school system personnel rules and regulations.
• Maintain accurate records and reports, such as repair records and inspection reports.
• Participate in training and staff development activities as may be required by the school system or state and federal regulations.
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or state‑approved High School Equivalency (HSE), required.
• Commercial Driver’s License with School Bus (S) and Passenger (P) endorsements preferred at the time of employment.
• Must have a combination of experience and training in maintaining, repairing and rebuilding automotive engines, including diesels. ASE Certification, preferred.
• Ability to pass annual physical required.
