Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years of industrial mechanical experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Technical education or related degree in mechanics, electromechanics, or industrial maintenance.

  • Knowledge of GMPs and HACCP is preferred.
  • Familiarity with FSSC 22000:2005 and ISO 9001 standards.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and repair mechanical failures such as noise, vibration, leaks, or wear.

  • Perform preventive maintenance and lubrication of moving parts per specs.

Job Details: Job Location: Houston, TX 77041, The Mechanic Technician is responsible for performing corrective and preventive maintenance on mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, automated, and industrial refrigeration systems (Chillers), ensuring the safe and efficient operation of equipment. This role involves specialized technical tasks and strict compliance with safety regulations.

DESCRIPTION
  • Diagnose and repair failures such as noise, vibration, leaks, or wear in mechanical systems.
  • Align shafts, rollers, and rotating equipment; disassemble and reassemble components for maintenance or repair. Inspect, replace, and adjust bearings, seals, couplings, rollers and other mechanical elements.
  • Use hand tools, power tools, and precision instruments, including diagnostic equipment such as thermography and tension meters.
  • Perform preventive maintenance and lubrication of moving parts using appropriate lubricants per specifications.
  • Detect and correct issues in cylinders, control valves, filters, and other pneumatic components.
  • Read and interpret pneumatic diagrams according to ISO and DIN standards.
  • Check and adjust air pressure and flow; calibrate proportional valves and regulators.
  • Select and install solenoid valves, FRL units, pressure regulators, and flow meters.
  • Visually inspect hydraulic systems, identifying leaks, overheating, or pressure loss.
  • Replace hoses, connectors, hydraulic cylinders, and seals.
  • Regulate hydraulic fluid temperature to maintain optimal system performance.
  • Perform basic welding (MIG, TIG, or arc welding), ensuring clean and strong joints.
  • Diagnose and maintain compressors, pumps, expansion valves, and condensers.
  • Perform cleaning, filter changes, and antifreeze level checks.
  • Monitor temperature, pressure, and performance of valves, thermostats, and alarms.
  • Perform safe installation, startup, and shutdown of chillers.
  • Use calipers, micrometers, pressure gauges, thermometers, and other precision measuring tools.
  • Comply with OSHA standards and use appropriate PPE.
  • Apply LOTO procedures to ensure safe working conditions

  • Familiarity with communication protocols such as Modbus, Profinet, Profibus, or Ethernet/IP.
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, pneumatic and hydraulic diagrams.
  • Basic knowledge of office tools or CMMS systems (preferred).
  • Strong commitment to safety and quality, with availability to work night shifts, weekends, or holidays as required
  • Bilingual is a plus.
  • Perform other duties as assigned
EXPERIENCE
  • Previous experience in manufacturing is preferred.
  • A minimum of 3 years of industrial mechanical experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Technical education or related degree in mechanics, electromechanics, or industrial maintenance.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Ability to stand for long periods, lift up to 50 pounds, and perform repetitive tasks.
  • Competence in operating basic tools and measuring devices (e.g., tape measure, scale).
  • Ability of repetitive reaching, bending, pushing, pulling, kneeling, carrying, going up and down ladders/steps.
WORKING CONDITIONS
  • Work is performed primarily on the manufacturing floor, which may involve exposure to loud noises, machinery, high temperatures and chemicals.
  • Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is required.
