Job Description
The Maintenance Mechanic Technician is responsible for safely maintaining, repairing, replacing, and modifying refrigeration equipment, water treatment and distribution systems, hydraulic systems, and air compressors with optimal quality and efficiency.
Day-to-day Responsibilities:
- Install, repair, replace, and perform preventative maintenance inspections on refrigeration equipment, chilled water systems, hydraulics, wastewater systems, and air compressors.
- Utilize tools and equipment applicable to the trade effectively.
- Respond to emergency calls, evaluate situations, and take corrective actions promptly.
- Work overtime when emergencies arise to prevent disruption of the facility.
- Maintain high standards of safety, cleanliness, and efficiency.
- Operate the CMMS system proficiently.
- Communicate effectively with production staff and other mechanics to identify problematic areas; provide and receive feedback through collection and analysis of information.
- Understand and support the company's objectives, including productivity, yields, food safety, quality, customer service, and cost goals.
- Perform daily inspections, emergency repairs, and routine adjustments; follow periodic preventive maintenance schedules. Participate in safety teams.

Requirements:
- Ability to understand and execute actions based on verbal and visual instructions.
- Experience with Ammonia Refrigeration Systems is a plus but not required.
- Effective communication skills; ability to read, write, and speak English.
- Familiarity with preventative maintenance practices.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Mechanical experience with troubleshooting HVAC systems, PLCs, hydraulic systems, etc.
