  • Leads maintenance troubleshooting to minimize downtime and ensure efficiency.
  • Performs preventative maintenance on mechanical equipment and lubricates pumps and motors.
  • Analyzes and recommends improvements to equipment and systems.
  • Works extended hours including nights, weekends, and callouts.
  • Takes on additional duties to support the team.

Job description

Essential Functions & Responsibilities

Mechanic Technician As a Mechanic Technician you will be responsible for performing and owning maintenance requirements for the incinerator. This role will work closely with plant Operations, Engineering, EI&A, and Mechanics to troubleshoot, plan and repair facility equipment.

  • Prioritizes health and safety by adhering to policies, processes, and maintaining safe practices at all times
  • Performs facility maintenance including the general repair and replacement of pumps, valves, piping and hoses as needed; completes basic pipefitting and threading
  • Coordinates work with other departments to minimize the impact to operations; communicates in advance with impacted personnel or functions
  • Leads during maintenance troubleshooting initiatives to minimize equipment and systems downtime and meet operational objectives; inspects completed job tasks to ensure equipment and systems are operating efficiently and safely
  • Performs preventative maintenance on facility mechanical equipment, including the lubrication of pumps, motors, and other equipment as needed
  • Analyzes and recommends improvements/modifications of existing equipment and systems to enhance operations; determines practical methods of performing non-routine tasks
  • Maintains the ability to work extended hours including nights, weekends, and callouts as needed
  • Takes on additional duties as assigned to support the team and organization
Education
  • High-school diploma or equivalent (required)
  • Technical degree within a mechanical discipline (preferred)
Experience
  • 5+ years of experience in industrial mechanical maintenance (required)
  • Foundational knowledge of and experience with mechanical and process maintenance (required)
