Job summary

B&G Foods is hiring a Plant Mechanic in Cincinnati for its Packing Department at the Crisco Oils & Shortening facility. You will maintain and repair plant equipment, read technical drawings, and ensure safety and efficiency on a 3rd shift.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma plus two years of technical training preferred.
• 2-5 years maintenance experience preferred.
• Excellent technical and troubleshooting skills across mechanical, electrical and technical disciplines.
• Machinist skills a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance activities in a high‑performance setting on shifts to maximize production, safety, quality and efficiency.
• Generate and complete work orders; initiate requests when urgent work is needed.
• Communicate with operators, line leaders and the technical leader on maintenance issues.
• Perform preventative maintenance and inspections; update programs as needed.
• Read and understand electrical and mechanical drawings; operate tools safely.
• Test mechanical equipment and participate in root-cause analyses for downtime.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the reliability of their team by operating, maintaining and repairing all plant equipment and facilities in a way that achieves high customer satisfaction. All work must be performed in a safe, timely and cost-effective manner.TITLE Plant Mechanic – CincinnatiREPORTS TO Area LeaderKEY RESPONSIBILITIES • Perform maintenance activities in a high-performance working environment on a shiftly basis to ensure optimum utilization of materials and manpower to maximize production, safety, quality and efficiency • Generate and complete work orders to ensure materials are available from the parts room.
