Job summary

Tropicana Brands Group is seeking a Packaging Mechanic in Bradenton, FL to support the UFO Maintenance team. You will perform quality checks on packaging, coding and materials during production and carry out Center-lining & clean, Inspect and Lubricate (CIL) to keep equipment running at peak standards.

The role requires at least 3 years of mechanical experience, the ability to troubleshoot, and willingness to work overtime and train others. Proficiency with SAP/Outlook/Excel is a plus.

Qualifications

  • Must have at least 3 years of mechanical experience with documented proof.
  • Able to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
  • Willing to be skill tested, assessed and certified as required.

Responsibilities

  • Operate and maintain packaging equipment and meet production schedules.
  • Perform quality checks on packaging, coding, products and materials.
  • Execute Center-lining & clean, Inspect and Lubricate (CIL) to optimize performance.
  • Track rapid changeovers to ensure timely starts for next product.
  • Develop SOPs and training materials; assist in training team members.

This role will be responsible for performing quality checks to ensure proper packaging, coding, products and other materials are correctly used in the production run, and performing equipment Center-lining & clean, Inspect and Lubricate (CIL) to ensure that all equipment is running at peak performance and to quality standards.Additional responsibilities will include:Safely operate and maintain all packaging equipment to meet production schedulesEnsure quality standards are metPerform quality checks to ensure proper packaging, coding, products and other materials are correctly used in the production runPerform equipment Center-lining & clean, Inspect and Lubricate (CIL) to ensure that all equipment is running at peak performance and to quality standardsPerform and track rapid changeover to ensure that the next product is started on time and is correctInitiative is proactive, does more than required, volunteers to help othersEffectively troubleshoot complete system, including equipment and componentsMust be able to track and maintain material counts and troubleshoot variancesMust be able to use predictive maintenance tools to implement and exercise needed improvementsWhen equipment problems occur, it is the responsibility of each employee to assist in getting the problem corrected quickly and on time (flow to the work) – above and beyond without having to be askedMust be willing to work off of your regular shift to provide technical support and training for the teamJob will require overtime, which could include more than 40 hours per week, 7 days a week and up to 12-hour daysWill be required to learn and use multi-computer skills which are paramount to the team’s successMust be able to develop detailed training, SOPs, and certifications, revise
