MS Directional, LLC is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic to perform maintenance on machinery and equipment, diagnose issues, and perform repairs to minimize downtime. The role requires disassembling/reassembling heavy equipment and reading manuals and blueprints.
You will work under the Motor Shop Manager, performing preventive maintenance, maintaining safety standards, and completing required paperwork while contributing to a team in varied weather and shift schedules.
The Maintenance Mechanic will be responsible for performing all aspects of maintenance on machinery and equipment. This role involves diagnosing mechanical issues and performing necessary repairs to ensure optimal equipment performance and minimal downtime. A strong mechanical background is essential to success in this role. Candidates must be able to disassemble, assemble and perform tool, equipment and facility repair and maintenance as required.
This role performs under the direction of the Motor Shop Manager.
Work on an array of mechanical issues related to shop tools and equipment and facilities.
Repair and replace damaged or worn parts. Make any and all repairs to equipment on an as need basis.
Dismantle and reassemble heavy equipment using hoists and hand tools.
Clean, lubricate, and perform other routine maintenance work on equipment.
Read and understand operating manuals, blueprints, and technical drawings.
Performs routine preventive maintenance to ensure that machinery continue to run smoothly.
Maintain a safe, clean and orderly work area
Ensure that all equipment is clean and in good working order
Repair and maintain facility's needs - changing light bulbs and air filters, small appliances such as but not limited to ice makers, water machines, etc.
Employee must work with an emphasis on safety for themselves and others, including coworkers and third parties, while wearing any required personal protective equipment (PPE) at all designated times
Completes all required work orders and paperwork as required
Perform other related duties as assigned
Able to work overtime as needed/required. Available for call-outs (evenings/nights, weekends and holidays)
Able to travel as required for meetings, training, seminars, etc. which may be overnight, day(s), week, etc.
Able to work well independently and in team settings
Ability to provide information to supervisors and coworkers by telephone, in written form, email, or in person
Ability to work and communicate effectively with all levels of co-workers, clients, and other external contacts
Must be able and willing to work in extreme climate and work conditions
Basic keyboarding or other small motor skills occasionally
Operation of heavy equipment or vehicles
Lifting/pushing objects (75 lbs max)
Climbing or working in awkward or cramped positions
Walking or standing for prolonged periods
High School Diploma or GED
Candidates must live within a 45 to 60 minute radius of the office.
Technical/Trade School experience
Knowledge of hydraulic pneumatics
Knowledge of gearboxes, transmission, welding techniques, rigging, rotating equipment maintenance, lubrication, non-destructive test and general mechanics.
Technical knowledge of mechanical maintenance operations.
Torque Master maintenance experience
This position requires the employee to work indoor/outdoor for long periods in all types of weather conditions typical of the area where the job is located, including dust, humidity, sleet, snow, rain, mud, cold, heat, wind, and other inclement weather. Working conditions for this position may involve exposure to varying outdoor conditions, including environmental chemicals, gases, noise, dampness, fumes, radiation and heights. Employee must be able to work closely with others in the confined area of the job, in a fast-paced team environment, and work independently when required or directed, taking initiative when necessary.
