Job summary

Henkels & McCoy West seeks an experienced fleet mechanic in Eureka, CA to perform routine preventive maintenance, diagnose and repair diesel engines and hydraulic systems, and maintain fleet equipment across multiple sites.

The role requires the ability to work with minimal supervision, travel up to 50% of the time, and prefers a CDL Class A. Competitive hourly wage is posted with a DOE basis.

Qualifications

• Requires experience repairing diesel engines and hydraulic systems.
• Requires experience repairing air brakes; certification is preferred but not required.
• Aerial device experience a plus
• Must have at least 5 years’ experience working as a mechanic
• Class A CDL, preferred
• Must be able to travel 50% of the time to other work sites.

• Routine preventive maintenance of fleet vehicles at assigned intervals.
• Generating repair orders with computerized maintenance management system.
• Order parts, tracking parts inventory and maintaining vendor relationships.
• Coordinate small tool repair.
• Documentation of PM reports & equipment repair logs.
• Hydraulic and engine repairs.
• Air brake repairs.
• Chassis repairs.
• Repair of construction type fleet equipment and vehicles.
• Must be able to work with minimum supervision.
