Mechanic- Maintenance 1- 2nd Shift (Finance)
The Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for proactively maintaining the operation of machinery and mechanical equipment through preventive and predictive maintenance.
Job Responsibilities
- Assist in installing and servicing different pieces of equipment, using required self-supplied and company-supplied hand tools.
- Perform assigned preventive maintenance tasks.
- Move and lift components using hoists, dollies, or other provided equipment.
- Update daily work communications.
- Maintain tools, powered vehicles, and equipment; keep parts and supplies organized.
- Ensure a clean and hazard-free work area throughout the day.
- Use and maintain safety equipment on job sites.
- Perform other duties as required by business needs.
- Follow applicable safety, environmental, food safety, and GMP requirements.
- Execute job order assignments and keep accurate records.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Experience & Skills
- Previous maintenance experience preferred but willing to train.
- Mechanically inclined with basic mechanics and electrical knowledge.
- Proficient in computer and technology use.
- Ability to read and interpret various mechanical and technical drawings.
- Knowledge of proper use and care of maintenance tools.
- Ability to follow procedures outlined in equipment manuals.
- Basic knowledge of gas, arc, and TIG welding.
- Ability to diagnose and correct equipment failures.
- Familiarity with air compressors, pumps, boilers, and other mechanical equipment.
Education
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent knowledge and skills acquired through training or experience.
Work Environment
- Ability to climb, stoop, bend, kneel, crawl, and stand for long periods.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. for short distances.
- Comfortable working at heights and in confined spaces.
- Capable of working in non-climate-controlled environments.
