Job summary

Cooper Machinery Services in West Virginia is seeking a seasoned Mechanic IV for our Deer Park facility. You will disassemble, rebuild, test, and finish highly complex equipment, reading engineering prints and specifications to ensure perform-ready handoffs. A strong safety mindset and independent, collaborative work style are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Ability to interpret drawings, prints, and engineering specs.
• Willing to work overtime, weekends, and holidays as needed.
• Physically capable of pushing, pulling, lifting, bending and other physical demands.
• Valid driver's license.
• Strong safety awareness and housekeeping practices.
• Must read schematics and perform basic math.
• Independent worker with good communication and collaboration skills.

As a Mechanic IV at our Deer Park facility, you'll disassemble, rebuild, test, and finish some of the most complex equipment in the industry — work that demands real expertise and rewards it in kind.

This role is built for a seasoned mechanic who reads a set of engineering prints like a second language, sets up and runs tests with confidence, and takes pride in handing off equipment that's ready to perform.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Disassemble, position, reassemble, test, and paint moderate to highly complex equipment
• Use a wide range of mechanical tools and equipment to complete assembly, disassembly, and testing tasks
• Interpret drawings, prints, and engineering specifications to guide your work
• Set up and run test operations in line with engineering specifications
• Troubleshoot and perform minor maintenance on mechanical equipment
• Conduct risk assessments before operations and material movements, and follow all EHS policies
• Keep your work area safe, clean, and organized
• Identify and report problems or hazardous conditions during equipment operations
• Complete required documentation and business training accurately and on time

WHO YOU ARE

• High school diploma or GED
• 8 years of experience in mechanical test and assembly/disassembly, or heavy equipment repair and maintenance
• Able to interpret drawings, prints, and engineering specifications
• Physically capable of pushing, pulling, lifting, bending, and other physical demands of the role
• Willing to work overtime, weekends, and holidays as needed
• Valid driver's license
• Solid grasp of safety regulations and good housekeeping practices
• Basic math skills and the ability to read schematics
• Mechanically minded, detail-oriented, and comfortable working independently to engineering specs
• A strong team player with excellent communication and collaboration skills

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• 8 years of experience in operations or service center applications
• Strong knowledge of natural gas engine and compressor equipment
