Job summary

RYAM in Jesup, GA is seeking an experienced Pipefitter to join the Maintenance Department. You will select pipes, assemble and install systems, modify piping and maintain documentation, while upholding safety and quality standards on rotating shifts.

The role requires a minimum of five years of pipefitting experience, the ability to work independently in varying conditions, and proficiency with TIG/SMAW welding as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of five years of pipefitting experience.

• Ability to work in varying conditions and temperatures, indoors and outdoors.
• Welding proficiency may be required (TIG/SMAW) on carbon and stainless steel.

Responsibilities

• Select the appropriate type and size of pipe and materials per specifications.
• Assemble and install metal and non-metal pipes, tubes, and fittings.
• Modify existing piping systems and machinery per diagrams and procedures.
• Complete and maintain specification sheets, PM checklists, and documentation.
• Install and maintain hydraulic and pneumatic components using hand and power tools.
• Cut pipe using saws, pipe cutters, and torches; secure piping with brackets and hangers.
• Perform duties promoting safety, quality, and production assurance.

How you’ll shape the future of the Maintenance Department:

• Select the appropriate type and size of pipe and related materials and equipment, such as supports, hangers, and hydraulic cylinders, according to specifications.
• Assemble and install a variety of metal and non-metal pipes, tubes, and fittings, including iron and steel.
• Modify existing piping systems and machinery as needed using diagrams and plant-accepted procedures.
• Complete and maintain specification sheets, PM checklists, and other documentation as needed.
• Install and maintain hydraulic and pneumatic components of machines and equipment, such as pumps and cylinders, using hand and power tools.
• Cut pipe using saws, pipe cutters, cutting torches, pipe-cutting machines, and other appropriate tools.
• Secure piping with brackets, clamps, and hangers using hand and power tools.
• Perform assigned duties in a manner that promotes safety, quality, and production assurance.

You’ll Be Someone Who Can Bring:

• High school diploma/GED
• Minimum of five years of experience as a Pipefitter
• Ability to work rotating shifts
• Ability to work independently
• Ability to work in various conditions and temperatures, both indoors and outdoors
• In addition to demonstrating proficient pipefitting knowledge and skills, candidates may be required to demonstrate welding proficiency through TIG and SMAW testing on carbon and stainless steel.
