Motor Coach Industries in Hayward, CA seeks a Mechanic IV to diagnose, repair, and maintain mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems on a diverse fleet. This role requires hands-on expertise and the ability to perform complex maintenance tasks independently to keep vehicles safe and reliable.

Qualifications

• Education not required but an asset; hands-on experience valued.
• 0-3 years of automotive/diesel experience preferred.
• CDL with Air and Passenger endorsements preferred but not required.
• Diagnostic tools such as Vansco and Cummins INSITE used for diagnostics.
• Fleet & Data Management software (Oracle, Fleetio) used for fleet records.
• Proficiency with common computer tools including Outlook.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance: oil/filters, fluids, tires and lubrication.
• Diagnose and repair engine, electrical, and body accessories for reliable operation.
• Service suspension, braking, steering systems and related components.
• Repair or replace radiators, water pumps, hoses, wheel bearings, doors, seats and control systems.
• Install glass and perform basic body repairs with attention to fit and finish.
• Adhere to safety procedures and perform other duties as assigned.
