Job summary

UnityPoint Health – Meriter in Wisconsin is seeking a Mechanic IV to maintain equipment, systems and buildings within Meriter facilities and grounds, ensuring safety and comfort for patients and staff.

Qualifications

• High school graduate with one year post high school education in a mechanical field or equivalent training.
• Mechanic 3 or equivalent maintenance mechanic or steamfitter – minimum 4 years.
• Preferred: two years formal education in a mechanical field plus specialized training in: controls, boilers, refrigeration, welding, machining.
• Healthcare related experience in power plant, 5-7 years.
• Experience with high-pressure boilers (2-3 years), controls (2-3 years), HVAC systems (2-3 years), refrigeration (2-3 years).

Responsibilities

• Maintain equipment, systems and buildings within Meriter facilities and grounds.
• Ensure work is performed in a safe and compliant manner per hospital and external standards.
• May specialize in one or more systems depending on experience and needs of facilities.

Shift:

Monday - Friday. 40 hours/week- 8/hour, day shift.

The Mechanic IV will maintain equipment, systems and buildings within Meriter facilities and grounds in a safe and comfortable manner for our customers in compliance with standards created by the hospital and outside agencies governing the health care industry. This position may specialize in one or more system consistent with experience and the needs of the facilities.
