The Industrial Mechanic performs skilled preventative and corrective maintenance activities, in an industrial setting, related to the inspection, repair, and maintenance of water and wastewater treatment and production equipment including ozone generators, chemical equipment, air compressors, valves, piping, motors, pumps and various rotating assemblies.
Driving a District vehicle for business will be required. Employees required to drive as part of their job duties are responsible for maintaining a current, valid, and vehicle - appropriate driver' s license of their resident state. This position requires continuous physical exertion often of a strenuous nature. Lifts or pulls/pushes 50 pounds on a daily basis and up to 100 pounds on a weekly basis in order to repair and service pumps, motors and machinery while using various hand tools and equipment. Working conditions include exposure to high voltage areas, weather, odor, noise, chemical hazards, gases and dust. Hand and power tools including drill press and lathe, welding equipment, emergency lighting equipment, safety equipment and crane.
