Job description

Mechanic III
1st shift: 6:30am - 2:30pm

The Mechanic III is responsible for diagnosing, examining, and repairing plant equipment that malfunctions. The role involves dismantling machines primarily using hand tools, replacing, fitting, or repairing broken, worn, or defective parts with items from stock or by ordering replacements. The Mechanic III will re-assemble machines, making necessary adjustments for proper operation, and install new machinery or heavy equipment as plant layouts change. The work is performed under the supervision of the Head Mechanic and Maintenance Supervisor.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
  1. Examine machines and mechanical equipment to diagnose issues.
  2. Dismantle or partially dismantle machines to perform repairs, mainly using hand tools.
  3. Replace needed parts with items from stock or order replacements from parts manuals, blueprints, and catalogs.
  4. Re-assemble machines, ensuring proper adjustments for optimal operation.
  5. Install new machines and heavy equipment following approved methods.
  6. Dismantle and install machinery or heavy equipment during plant layout changes.
