Responsibilities

  • Rebuild major components for mechanical drive heavy equipment trucks (e.g., rear wheel groups, front corner groups, brake assemblies, differentials).
  • Operate overhead cranes, jib hoists, pallet jacks and forklifts to move components.
  • Prepare and inspect parts for quotes and estimates; maintain clean work areas and safety practices.
  • Read maintenance manuals and drawings to guide teardown and reassembly.
  • Demonstrate an aptitude to learn and grow within the department and shop.

POSITION SUMMARY

The purpose of this position is to rebuild major components for mechanical drive heavy equipment trucks including but not limited to rear wheel groups, front corner groups, brake assebles and differentials.

This position will be working a 2nd shift schedule (M-TH 3:00PM - 1:00AM).

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Safety – conduct all activities in a safe manner, utilizing PPE and adhering to company policy and alerting others regarding potential concerns. Safety is # 1.
  • Adhere to all H-E Parts company policies and procedures
  • Must maintain a good attendance record and maintain the highest level of professional conduct.
  • Work as a team to assist with or teardown large and small components and assemblies
  • Clean and prep parts for inspection
  • Move components by operating overhead cranes, jib hoists and pallet jacks, forklifts, etc.
  • Prepare and secure parts for transportation throughout the shop area
  • Maintain a level of cleanliness throughout your work areas and the shop for good housekeeping and safety
  • Learn operation of part and pressure washers as well as paint and wash bay operations
  • Required to fill out inspection documents completely, i.e.. Complete all inspection packet forms and upload all needed pictures to proper files for quotes and estimates
  • Read maintenance manuals and drawings.
  • Understanding of proper use and care of micrometers and other instruments used for inspection and teardown
  • Use material analyzer to detect coatings and identify parent material
  • Perform all process on sub-assemblies
  • Demonstrate an aptitude to learn and grow within the department and shop
  • Perform other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
  • A high school diploma or general education degree (GED) is preferred.
  • At least two year mechanical work experience or equivalent education is preferred.
  • Ability to lift up to 50# is required.
  • Previous experience in heavy equipment repair; mechanical aptitude, and basic understanding of precision measuring tools preferred.
