Job summary

The Inland Empire Utilities Agency (IEUA) is seeking Mechanics I-III to support operations and maintenance of water, wastewater, recycled water, and composting systems. You will perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on pumps, compressors, gearboxes, pipelines, and chemical feed systems to ensure reliable service and safety.

Candidates should have a high school diploma, relevant maintenance experience, and the ability to obtain required certifications.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Mechanic I: 1 year semi-skilled maintenance experience; public agency preferred.
  • Within 6 months obtain CPR/First Aid, Confined Space, SCBA, Forklift.
  • Within 24 months CWEA Mechanical Technologist Grade 1; driver and crane operator certs may be required.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on pumps, compressors, and gearboxes.
  • Inspect and repair pipelines, chemical feed systems, and related mechanical equipment.
  • Fabricate and weld as needed to support maintenance tasks.
  • Adopt safety protocols and operate forklifts and SCBA where required.
