Job summary

StandardAero is seeking an Accessory Mechanic I to assemble, disassemble, repair, inspect and test aircraft engine accessories, lead and train trainees, and perform subassembly testing with minimal supervision in a safety-conscious shop.

You will read manuals and blueprints, set up test benches, use hand and power tools, observe safety rules, and participate in continuous improvement. High school diploma required; 1–2 years experience and A&P certification preferred.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods.
  • Proficient English to interpret technical data.
  • Proficiency with hand and power tools.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble, disassemble, repair, inspect, and test aircraft engine accessories.
  • Subassembly testing and calibration of parts of aircraft engine accessories.
  • Read and interpret manuals, technical drawings, and blueprints.
  • Test bench setup and operation.
  • Mentor Accessory Shop Mechanic Trainee employees.
  • Follow safety requirements/regulations and procedures.
  • Maintain orderly workstations and complete relevant paperwork.

  • Assembly, disassembly, repair, inspection, and testing of aircraft engine accessories
  • Subassembly testing and calibration of various parts of aircraft engine accessories
  • Ability to read and interpret manuals, technical drawings, and blueprints to determine proper operating conditions
  • Test bench set-up and operation
  • Effective and accurate use of tools
  • Troubleshoot and practical problem-solving skills
  • Lead, train, and mentor Accessory Shop Mechanic Trainee employees
  • Requires minimal supervision
  • Complete relevant paperwork to ensure accuracy
  • Observe all applicable safety requirements/regulations
  • Follow both written and verbal instructions
  • Maintain cleanliness and organize workstations
  • Participates in continuous process improvement
  • Performing other duties as assigned
Basic Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Ability to lift to 50lbs without assistance
  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time
  • Proficient with English language to interpret and follow various technical data
  • Proficiency in using hand and power tools
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working with J-85 engines is a plus
  • Some A&P certification or equivalent experience through education and hands-on training
  • At least 1-2 years of experience in aircraft engine accessory overhaul and repair
