Waste-Away, a Waste Connections company, has an immediate opening for a Mechanic Helper in Elkhart, Indiana.

Our Mechanic Helper will work directly with Diesel Mechanics and the Maintenance Manager to diagnose and repair our truck fleet and equipment safely. We seek individuals eager to grow and advance in this role.

Responsibilities:

• Diagnose mechanical issues in suspension, brake, electrical, and hydraulic systems
• Perform repairs on CNG, diesel, and gasoline trucks, including support vehicles
• Read and interpret vehicle condition reports and repair orders
• Complete electronic repair documentation
• Use diagnostic software and manuals to identify issues
• Follow safety policies and participate in safety training
• Perform other duties as assigned

Minimum Requirements:

• Valid driver’s license
• Ability to work in all weather conditions
• Ability to lift at least 50 lbs repeatedly
